Sour Mash is a process in the distilling industry that uses material from an older batch of whiskey to start fermentation of the batch currently being made. Sour Mash is also an acoustic trio of three seasoned musicians playing music from the past. They are organic, energetic, and improvisational. ‘The term sour mash does not relate to the flavor of the whiskey, and it does not relate to the fresh sound of the trio.’ (Bert Brewer, The Beacon Magazine). The band consists of Gary Frost and Jason Montero, both on vocals and guitar, and Michael Paparo on stand-up bass.
