Micah Scott is a hard working musician who has become a staple on the South Florida Music scene. With his roots in upstate NY, playing music has taken him up and down the East Coast, to the West Coast & across the pond to the UK. On January 18, 2016 Micah’s first solo album “Dark Horse” was released. The album has since charted #1 on both Amazon & Country Music Chart Magazines under the genres Roots Rock, Americana & Alt Country.
While Micah is versatile in style & enjoys a diverse musical career, his main passion is music that is derived from/influenced by Piedmont & Delta Blues. Muddy Waters, Big Bill Broonzy, Mississippi John Hurt & John Fahey are a short list of his favorite musicians. For more contemporary artists, Micah draws on influences like Dave Rawlings Machine, Shakey Graves & Jack White.
Micah’s performances consist of original material, traditional bluegrass & blues music. His favorite guitars to perform on are resophonic guitars, which he finger picks & plays slide on. Micah sings, stomps, plays harmonica & picks the guitar. His Americana guitar playing and songwriting is a nod to the past while taking a big step into the future.
